We pride ourselves in offering our guests the chance to access the ´real´ rio and avoid the typical tourist traps based on our in-depth knowledge of the local area. Where possible we organise our own in-house / bespoke tours for guests to cultural places of interest and events with experienced staff and tour guides to make sure you get the best quality and a true insight into the local customs and community. We try and avoid 3rd party tour operator tours where the focus is on as many tourists as possible on the tour and from which hotels earn a commission and which mostly do nothing for guest comfort or authenticity. Where we do use 3rd party tour operators we will advise which ones fit more with our ethics policy, then the choice is up to you.

Whatever you´re looking for we can help you organise it on a ticket only or accompanied tour basis. See below for a selection of the activites which you can include in your stay:

Brazilian dance lessons : Samba no Pé (Carnival Samba), Forró, Samba Gafiera, Salsa or Lambada /Zouk

" This is probably one of the best guesthouses I´ve stayed in, it´s exceptionally clean and well-organised, with very helpful staff! I especially enjoyed the terraces and the hammocks. I was also thrilled with the trip to the samba school - this is something I would never have experienced on my own"
