Welcome
Casa 579 is an ethical
bed and breakfast and volunteering concept offering stylish and cosy
accommodation in a beautiful colonial house located in Santa Teresa, Rio de
Janeiro and a unique chance to really get involved with the local community. With an amazing roof terrace with breathtaking 180 degree views over the city, the house has been the site of fashion shoots and TV documentaries thanks to it's stunning views of Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay.

Casa 579 is a unique ethical accommodation alternative that supports local community projects such as the educational Julio Otoni Project located in the nearby Julio Otoni Community. By staying at Casa 579, not only will you have a chance to stay in an
amazing place, but you are supporting the local community and
specifically the
Julio Otoni Project. Of course,
if you would like to really get involved we are always looking for volunteers
to participate at the project – see our Volunteering page for more details.
We offer a warm and friendly atmosphere, great spaces to relax in and lots of local knowledge to help you get the most out of your time in Rio. If you're lucky you will spot some of our come-again guests
to Casa 579; a family of monkeys and a toucan, staying in the trees visible
from the breakfast area!
