New Year and Carnival in Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is home to two of the biggest celebrations on earth...New Year's Eve on Copacabana Beach and the world famous Rio Carnival. Staying at Casa 579 for New Year or Carnival you will be sure to get to the heart of the celebrations and experience the best of what the city has to offer at this time of year. At New Year we have a BBQ on our Panoramic Roof Terrace before heading over to Copacabana Beach to see in the New Year and the spectacular fireworks display as well as the concerts from some of Brazils' top artists on Copacabana beach. However, if you prefer, you can stay on the terrace and enjoy the view of the fireworks from there.
For Carnival we consider ourselves seasoned Carnival experts having paraded in the Carnival many times and will get you to the heart of the Carnival celebrations both at the Sambadromo and at the many blocos (street parties) around the city in a way you can only imagine.

Parading in the Carnival
Every year we parade in the Carnival in full costume...a once in a lifetime experience. You don't need to be a Samba expert and the costumes are always amazing but not too skimpy so that everyone can join in (although don't be shy, Brazilians of all shapes and sizes squeeze themselves into the tiniest of costumes and do so with pride!). Costumes are yours to keep. If you want to join us please ask for more details!
